I was talking to this girl from class and I mentioned I’d be interested in studying abroad, possibly Africa. She said she would never go to Africa because “she doesn’t want to get AIDS”. I was so shocked I didn’t even know what to say. I’m kicking myself in the butt now for not being able to quickly come up with a response. and this girl is getting her MASTERS IN PUBLIC HEALTH. like seriously? I hate ignorant people.
Picked up a second part time job and scheduled an interview for an internship, while a full time grad student. I am going to take a three month nap once I get this degree. Preferably on a beach in Spain.

There are nearly 200 countries in the world. Before I die would like to see at least 100 of them. So far I have the US (obviously), Bermuda, Jamaica, Ireland, and England. I am going to the Dominican Republic in March. Definitely planning a trip to Canada in the near future. I would like to get to Europe to visit my Aunt either this summer or next summer.
If I go to Europe I’d get the euro rail and try to see a handful of countries.
Some countries that are definitely on my list:
Christmas Island, Thailand, Puerto Rico, Peru, Greece, Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Venezuela, Sweden, Trinidad, Turkey, Philippines, Cuba, Japan, Egypt, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, South Africa, Antarctica, Brazil…
Maybe by the time I’m 40 I can go to all these places. Wishful thinking. This girl is broke and in debt.
I have this feeling that 24 is going to be my year. Finished my first semester of grad school with good grades, got accepted into a competitive research program, started to travel again after a bit of a hiatus, making plans to go somewhere tropical for spring break, saving up for Europe this summer. It just feels like many more good things are going to happen. Feeling no negative vibes.

I have a month off between August 15-September 15. Trying to go to Germany, Austria, Czech, and Italy SO BAD.
road trip to vermont. magic hat. microbreweries. snowshoeing. ben & jerry’s. live music. friends. great weekend.
For a while now I’ve been talking about my idea for my first tattoo. Since I never had anyone to draw out my idea for me I put my photoshop skills to the test and made my own. Using some of my favorite photographs from Luke Gram (man-and-camera) I’ve made a collage of pictures that describe exactly what I want in a tattoo. A starry sky with a mountain and trees extending across a lake that connects to a flowing waterfall. Of course this is very rough but it gets the idea across. Thanks Luke!
I wish I had this as a poster in my room.

does anyone know this movie?
I remember watching it in middle school in class, but I don’t think we ever finished it. It involves teens or young adults either stuck in the woods or on an island. There is at least two boys in the movie. There is one girl and she has to pretend to be a boy (I can not remember why). At some point they have to cross some body of water and the one macho dude tells the girl to not be a baby and take off her shirt (because he thinks he’s talking to a guy). And the last thing she wants is everyone to realize she’s actually a female (once again, I can not remember the reasoning).
and that is all I can remember. Anyone have any idea what this movie is?
